At what level does "real" limit poker begin?

New to the boards but not poker - I've played both B&M and live (california no fold 'em).

I like LHE and have played a bit at the micro stakes (pstars) but I can't help but feel that the games I'm playing aren't "real" because of the low stakes. You almost can't apply most of the stuff you read in books because there's always some yuk-yuk playing no fold 'em.

So, if my goal is to play online and play "real" poker, what limits should I be looking at? My roll can fade as high as 5/10.
